Title analysis.

The point of a film title is to give the opportunity for the audience to form an immediate first impression at the beginning of the film. Below are some examples of film titles and what they achieve.

The paranormal activity title above creates the instant impression that the film is based on something of a supernatural nature. This is from the use of the 'staggered' and 'unclear' background that in effect imitates the use of a static TV screen. The immediately allows the viewer to form a prediction of what may follow in the remainder of the film. These conclusions that are drawn could be that there may be some sort of communication from another dimension, once again adding to the supernatural theme.

This title also uses extremely bright text which signifies that something may be trying to break out of the darkness of the static TV screen. This automatically makes the assumption that the film involves a supernatural theme that the audience has built up.
