The typical psychological horror film synopsis often follow similar plots. Many of them tend to involve families or children and awful events or unimaginable deaths happen to them. The people in the film tend to be vulnerable and usually are 'stalked' or 'followed' and the antagonist being in control. These psychological horror films are often set in ordinary settings and involve normal everyday items or features. These all add up to the audience becoming nervous and possess anticipation of what may happen in their lives as it becomes much more relatable.
A good example of this typical synopsis is the 1980 British-American psychological horror film. In short, a recovering alcoholic and his family get trapped in a hotel and the recovering alcoholic becomes possessed. He then attempts to murder his wife and son due to the psychological and supernatural preference.
