Evaluation of the preliminary task.

Throughout the preliminary task myself as an individual and the group have learnt some valuable lessons. The main one being that it is vital to be organised and not let simple things slip. These things will prove to be worthwhile when it comes to the main task. I have also learnt that we should apply and keep to the 3 features that we were given. They were; match on action, the 180 degree rule and shot-reverse-shot. It is also very important to stick to the task and not over complicate things and this can make the production far more difficult.

Prior to the preliminary task, I had no previous acting experience therefore was unsure of how to adapt myself to improve our preliminary task. As a result of this, it took a while for us to get the right clips. When it comes to our main task, we will be more experienced in terms of acting so it will make it easier in terms of our media. I have also gained editing skills as before the preliminary task, I had absolutely zero experience and now I have developed this. This will result in my main task being improved as we have a basic understanding of editing. I have also gained basic camera skills, through not breaking the 180 degree rule, using match on action, utilizing the shot-reverse-shot and using a range of other techniques. These have all improved us in terms of experience.

We received some feedback for our final piece on our video. This is below.

I would improve the preliminary task through ensuring we are totally organised and making sure that we keep to the script entirely. This is because our script is slightly different to our final piece due to our camera running out of battery. This is down to organisation, this then goes along with keeping to the script.
